Exhibition

Apart from developing Tcc, QTU and related equipment we are hoping to setup a permanent public model railway exhibition. It seems a shame that so much excellent modelling is hidden away in people's attics, basements and garages, only to be seen and enjoyed by a few people.

Inspired by the excellent layout at MiniaturWunderland in Hamburg, Germany we would like to create a large layout (albeit a fraction of the size of MiniaturWunderland) and open it for public viewing in South Island, New Zealand.

As the time and costs are both prohibitive and uneconomic a regular business case is implausible so we propose to provide premises and equipment, and setup a club around the project.

In addition we are contemplating offering homestay for free to holiday makers willing to put serious modelling effort into the project.

The exhibition will probably use several scales (N, HO and G) to illustrate what can be achieved with automation and modelling and hopefully inspire some railway modellers to dabble with automation and some newcomers to join our fantastic hobby.

Once premises have been acquired and work started then expect pictures to appear here.
